« I went to Gaspard for a bike fit and I was not disappointed! Very calm, composed, attentive, takes his time, excellent advice (a saddle model better suited to my body), ultra-professional equipment. Available afterwards by email or message for questions, very responsive. I went back to see him after the changes he had recommended: there is real follow-up. I highly recommend him, with my eyes closed! »

Gravel bike fit
Gravel stacks up the constraints: hours in the saddle as on the road, vibration and impacts as on an MTB, often bikepacking and 8 to 12-hour days. The position has to be more upright and more stable than on the road, without sacrificing efficiency on the fast sections.
What the bike fit looks at for gravel
- Slightly more upright position to absorb vibration and keep your eyes on the track
- Flared handlebar: rotation and height set for descending in the drops
- SPD or road cleats: alignment and float adapted to walking and to pedalling out of the saddle
- Bags and carried weight taken into account for bikepackers
- Saddle pressure and numbness over very long durations
What to bring: your gravel bike with the tyres you use, your shoes and cleats, and your bags if you go bikepacking.
Typical pain
| Area | Common postural cause |
|---|---|
| Hands and wrists | vibration and excessive load: handlebar height, saddle setback, width |
| Neck | position too low to look far ahead on the track |
| Lower back | repeated impacts and lack of hip mobility |
| Perineum | saddle unsuited to hours of bikepacking |
I treat the pain with osteopathy if needed, then I correct the position so it does not come back. Osteopath for cyclists.
How much it costs
Full bike fit €250, 1.5 to 2 hours, cleats included. Second bike (road) + €60 if you bring it on the same day.

« Great work by Gaspard! A few hundred kilometres after he reviewed my bike setup and gave me advice on pedalling properly, no more knee or back pain. The way to go if you want to ride for hours without trouble. »
« I went to see Gaspard because I had been suffering from pain in my right knee for over 2 years, especially on the bike. After one osteopathy session and a bike fit, the pain has completely gone. Impressive result, the pleasure of riding back in a single session. Very professional and effective work. I highly recommend him! »

Gravel bike fit: your questions
Should my gravel position be the same as on the road?
No. It is generally 1 to 3 cm more upright and shorter, with a flared handlebar. If you have both bikes, I set up the second one for an extra €60 on the same day, keeping the two consistent.
I am preparing an ultra-distance event (Gravel Tro Breizh, Race Across France…), is the bike fit suitable?
It is one of the cases where it is most useful: over 20 hours in the saddle, pressure points and numbness become the limiting factor. The fit takes into account the weight of your bags and your resting positions.
Where can I ride gravel around the practice?
The tracks of the Bauges, the Lac du Bourget loop on trails and the La Féclaz plateau are within riding distance. Come by bike if you like.

Time to book. Athlete or not, I start by understanding where the pain comes from before treating it.
