Hands-on treatment of the back by Gaspard Blanc, osteopath in Viviers-du-Lac
Viviers-du-Lac · between Aix-les-Bains and Chambéry

Osteopath in Viviers-du-Lac. And a bike fit, seen through an osteopath’s eyes.

I see adults, athletes, children, teenagers and pregnant women, Monday to Saturday, and consultations are available in English. And when I set up a bike, I bring to it what osteopathy has taught me about the body: that is what makes my bike fit different.

Two areas of expertise, one practice

An osteopathy practice. And a bike fit designed by an osteopath.

The two sides of the practice: hands-on osteopathic treatment and measuring axle height on the bike

Bike fit

1.5 to 2 hours · from €90

Bike fitting for road, gravel, MTB, triathlon and e-bike. It is not a separate service: it is my osteopath’s eye applied to your position on the bike.

  • Osteopathic examination of mobility and asymmetries before touching the bike
  • Connected measurements and dynamic analysis on the indoor trainer
  • Saddle, handlebar, stem, cleats: everything is adjusted and explained, and what is restricted is treated

From club cyclists to professional riders

Gustave Blanc, Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe Rookies

A rider with the Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe U23 development team, Gustave has been followed at the practice since his early days: position on the bike, injury prevention, recovery. The same work, with the same tools, as for the cyclists who come to Viviers-du-Lac.

La Motte-Servolex Cyclisme

I support the club’s riders with bike fitting and osteopathy: position on the bike, pain prevention, follow-up through the season.

What patients say
★★★★★

« I went to Gaspard for a bike fit and I was not disappointed! Very calm, composed, attentive, takes his time, excellent advice (a saddle model better suited to my body), ultra-professional equipment. Available afterwards by email or message for questions, very responsive. I went back to see him after the changes he had recommended: there is real follow-up. I highly recommend him, with my eyes closed! »

« Great work by Gaspard! A few hundred kilometres after he reviewed my bike setup and gave me advice on pedalling properly, no more knee or back pain. The way to go if you want to ride for hours without trouble. »

★★★★★

« I went to see Gaspard because I had been suffering from pain in my right knee for over 2 years, especially on the bike. After one osteopathy session and a bike fit, the pain has completely gone. Impressive result, the pleasure of riding back in a single session. Very professional and effective work. I highly recommend him! »

FAQ

The questions I’m asked most often

How much does an osteopathy consultation in Viviers-du-Lac cost?

The consultation costs €60 and lasts about 45 minutes. You receive an invoice for your complementary health insurance (mutuelle), which often reimburses one or more sessions a year.

How much does a bike fit cost?

The full bike fit costs €250 for a road, gravel or MTB bike, and €280 for a time trial bike or a bike with aerobars. Cleat setup for one pair of shoes is included. Additional bike on the same day: + €60. If you are buying a bike, the same fit can be done in two steps, before and after you buy, at the same price. Basic bike fit (e-bike, city bike): €90. Cleat setup alone: €40 per pair.

Why get your bike fit from an osteopath rather than in a shop?

In a shop, the fit relies on static measurements and standard settings. As an osteopath, I examine your body first: hip and ankle mobility, asymmetries, history, pain. The final position respects your physiology, and if a joint restriction stops you from adopting a good position, I treat it during the session.

Are you going to crack my back?

Not necessarily, and never without explaining it first. The crack is not a goal, it is sometimes a sound that comes with a quick technique. For a back that has hurt for a long time, I usually start with slow mobilisations and soft-tissue work. You can decline any technique at any time, I work differently with the same aim.
